Reading Challenge FAQs

  • General Questions

    1. In January, ask for a Reading Challenge notebook at your local branch (while supplies last). When you’ve read titles in all 12 categories, tear out the page in the back of the notebook and turn into your local branch starting April 1. You’ll receive a pin for completing and be entered into the prize drawing.
    2. Starting April 1, you may complete the tracking form online, which will automatically enter you into the prize drawing. After you’ve submitted this form, tell staff at your local branch that you’ve completed the challenge to receive your enamel pin.

In January, stop into your local branch and ask for a Reading Challenge notebook (while supplies last). This notebook not only has space for you to keep track of everything you’ve read, but it also includes suggested reads for each challenge. Lists are also available, opens a new window on the website, and you are always encouraged to visit your local branch and ask staff for ideas or request a custom reading list online.

You may only enter the Reading Challenge once each year. Once you’ve finished all of the challenges and either turned in your sheet from the notebook or completed the form online, you’re done for the year!
