Omaha Public Library (OPL) supports the work of Nebraska authors and artists. Omaha Public Library defines "local" as a current or former resident of Nebraska. OPL’s collection development team prefers to support local authors by purchasing their books, but authors may donate copies if their books are not available for purchase.

Submissions will be evaluated according to OPL’s Collection Development Policy, as are all titles considered for the collection. If added to the Library, the item(s) will be part of OPL’s floating collection and subject to standard weeding procedures. The number of copies purchased depends on patron demand. Donations from local authors will be handled per the gift portion of the policy.

    Form to submit information

Because of the volume of requests, OPL is unable to return submitted materials or respond directly to each author or artist. A title will appear in the catalog when it is ordered.
