  • General Questions

    Reservations are open to all visitors. You do not need a library card to reserve or use Do Space equipment

    You may make one reservation per piece of equipment per week.

    3D Printers

    • Up to 4 hours per week
    • Prints must start and finish during your reservation.
    • You must stay with the printer during use.
    • No overnight prints

    PLA filament is provided at no cost. Personal filament is not permitted.

    Cricut Equipment

    • Up to 4 hours per week

    Laser Cutters

    • Up to 4 hours per week
    • You must stay with the machine during use.

    Sewing Machine

    • Up to 4 hours per week
    • Thread is provided.

    Time limits help ensure fair access, equipment reliability, and staff availability to support all visitors. If you have questions or need assistance, OPL staff are happy to help.

    All reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

    Equipment reservations:

    • Begin 30 minutes after the library opens
    • End 30 minutes before the library closes
    • On Fridays, reservations begin at 12:00 p.m.

    These timeframes allow staff to safely prepare, clean, and maintain equipment so it’s ready for use.

    Friday mornings are set aside to clean and maintain Do Space equipment, restock supplies, and prepare the space for the week ahead. This helps ensure tools are safe, reliable, and ready for everyone to use.

  • Laser Cutting & Engraving

    No, but you can use xTool P2S to engrave on coated metal, anodized aluminum alloy, and titanium steel. For stainless steel, you need to spray a coating on it before engraving it.

    The rotary attachment supports cylinders with diameters up to 180 mm.

    No. Files generated by third-party applications or design software cannot be imported directly into XCS. They must be converted into a supported format before import.

    To process files from third-party sources in XCS, export your design as one of the following file formats: SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, or BMP. Once exported, you can then import the converted file into XCS for further editing and processing.

    Yes, please allow proper drying/curing times to avoid excess fumes and limit flammability. Most common water-based, acrylic, and oil-based finishes are acceptable.
