Memory Lab
About the Equipment
The Memory Lab gives users the ability to digitize, preserve, and convert old media — such as VHS tapes, cassettes, vinyl, and photos — into digital formats for free.
You'll find Memory Lab equipment on the 3rd floor of OPL's Central Library.
Using the Equipment
- You may reserve up to four hours at a time.
- Equipment that is not reserved in advance is available for same-day reservations.
All listed equipment is available. However, patrons may need to request certain equipment be brought out of staff spaces for use.
- Sabrent USB C Docking Station (for HDD or SSD drives)
- JVC Super VHS ET (for VHS and VHS-C)
- TASCAM CD-A580 (for cassettes & CDs)
- 2 Sony Handycam Visions (for camcorder/Hi8) (there are two different models: one is a CCD-TRV62 and the other is a CCD-TRV318)
- Epson V600 Flatbed Scanner
- External DVD drive
- Floppy disk reader
- Audio Technica AT-LP120-USB (for vinyl)
- Wolverine Data Film2Digital (for 8 mm film/Super 8)
- 2 Blumway portable cassette-to-MP3 converters
