Omaha Public Library presents a virtual discussion with “I Survived” series author Lauren Tarshis

Omaha Public Library (OPL) is pleased to welcome author Lauren Tarshis for a virtual discussion and Q&A session on Thursday, December 16, at 6 p.m. Tarshis is the author of the New York Times bestselling “I Survived” series and the “Emma Jean Lazarus” series, as well as the editor of Storyworks Magazine. Each book in the “I Survived” series tells a terrifying and thrilling story from history, through the eyes of a kid who lived to tell the tale. The most recently released book in the series is “I Survived: The Galveston Hurricane, 1900.”

Tarshis will speak about her struggles with reading when she was a child, as well as how she researches the historical periods in which she sets her books. Attendees will be entered into a raffle to win one of 10 books signed by the author. The discussion will take place through Crowdcast. Registration is required at omahalibrary.org.
