Can I get a card if I don’t live in Omaha?

If you live in Douglas County, you can get a full-access library card at no cost.

A Nebraska Express card is available to any Nebraska resident, and this card allows up to 5 checkouts and holds at a time. The Nebraska Express card is good for physical checkouts of OPL items.

For non-residents, you may get a library card for a fee.

  • Monthly memberships are available for $10/month and 12-month memberships for $100/year.
  • Checkout privileges include a 20-item limit for physical materials, a 6-item limit for eBooks, and access to online resources.
  • A non-resident membership does not include access to Discovery Passes; those passes are reserved for Douglas County residents only.

Limited free privileges are also offered to all non-resident students ages 5 through 18.
