In February 1966, the W. Clarke Swanson Branch (9101 W. Dodge Rd.) of Omaha Public Library (OPL) opened its doors to the public. The opening of this sixth OPL location was considered a solution to the increased migration of families to West Omaha. In recognition of its 50th anniversary, all were invited to attend a free open house on Saturday, November 5, 3-5 p.m. Participants enjoyed refreshments and activities, as well as a display of Swanson Branch memorabilia and photos.
