On November 18, 2021, OPL's Board of Trustees approved a resolution, opens a new window to work with Heritage Omaha, opens a new window to explore opportunities to address the recommendation made in OPL's 2017 facilities master plan for a new central library on Dodge St. between 72nd and 90th streets. On January 28, 2022, an update provided by project partners confirmed that the southwest corner of 72nd & Dodge will be the focal point for the project.
