Traci Schacht, normally a poet who performs readings, is making her first foray into visual art. Her exhibition, “Scorched and Scarred,” is a collection of laser cut panels with text. Schacht is a spoken-word poet and visual artist from Omaha. She works for the Nebraska Writers Collective as a teaching artist in the Louder Than a Bomb program, as well as for the Collective For
Youth program in middle schools. She is also a teaching artist with the Nebraska Arts Council for Poetry Out Loud and a resident visiting artist with the Lied Center in Lincoln.
