Resettlement Agencies & Resources

The following local agencies assist with resettlement of refugees in the United States:

Lutheran Family Services (LFS)
https://www.lfsneb.org/service-type/new-populations/Refugee Services is a program of Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska that provides services to refugees before, during, and after their arrival, including resettlement and employment services. LFS prepares for a refugee's arrival and helps them obtain needed services such as English classes, cultural orientation, employment services, appointments with the Health Department and Social Services.

Refugee Empowerment Center (REC)
http://refugeeempowerment.org/
The Refugee Empowerment Center assists refugees who are transitioning from their own culture to American life. REC focuses on helping refugees live and work productively, further their education, and achieve a better life for themselves and their children. Their goal is to empower refugees to integrate into their new homes and obtain the skills necessary for economic self-sufficiency.
