Parenting Resources During COVID-19

Parents and families everywhere are adjusting to a new reality, which introduces questions about how to balance work and family time, keep kids entertained and learning, and continue to keep loved ones healthy and safe. It’s a challenging time to navigate and staff at OPL have put together resources we hope will aid you.

Parenting During a Pandemic is full of guidance and tips from organizations about how to manage your time with your kids and stay (relatively) productive and mentally healthy. An additional list provides resources for Parents of Children with Autism and Other Sensory Processing Disorders.

Do you need a new handwashing song for the little ones? Or do you want information for a loved one at risk? Library staff have compiled reliable information on health, mask making, pets and other topics for Protecting Your and Your Family's Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

For those times you just need new ways to distract your kids so you can focus on other things, try some of the ideas on this list of Free Family Games or Activities for Kids While Their Parents are Working.

If you want more resources, need to renew your library card, or just want a chance to talk to a librarian directly, OPL is still here. While the libraries are closed, staff are available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. both online through AskOPL and by phone at 402.444.4800.
