Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir

letpretendthisneverhappenedWarning – do not read this giggle-inducing book on a plane if you’re easily embarrassed. Jenny Lawson, journalist and author of Thebloggess.com, is hilariously honest and inappropriate in telling the story of her outlandish childhood and life. Much of Lawson’s experiences seems too strange to be true yet will somehow remind you of someone you know. Through this humor, the reader learns about depression, anxiety, and the self-awareness that came to Lawson mid-life. Everyone has awkward events they wish had never happened, but in the end, they make us who we are.

Couples will get a laugh reading many of the chapters, recognizing the inane conversations and situations couples get immersed in. If you have a sense of the absurd and are not easily offended by profanity, this well-paced, well-written book is for you.
