Election Day: freedom to vote and read at your library
Six Omaha Public Library locations will be polling places from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the primary election on Tuesday, May 11. The Library staff invites voters to visit the Library and check out the latest books, DVDs and other materials when they come to vote.
Polling locations are: • Milton R. Abrahams Branch, 5111 N. 90th St., 444-6284 • Florence Branch, 2920 Bondesson St., 444-5299 • A.V. Sorensen Branch, 4808 Cass St., 444-5274 • W. Learning your family history can be a journey of a lifetime. You never know what or who you’ll find! Getting started is much easier now because of the great new resources available to you online, for free, at Omaha Public Library. To help people get started on their journey, two classes on insider genealogy tips using the online database Ancestry.com will be offered on May 11. One class will be at 11 a.m. at W. Dale Clark Main Library, 215 S. 15th St. and the other at 2 p.m. at South Omaha Library, 2808 Q St. The instructor will be Edward Loera from ProQuest.
Ancestry.com, Inc. is the world’s largest online family history resource with more than 4 billion digitized historical records. The database provides the tools, content and community to help individuals discover their roots and tell their unique family story.
