Omaha Public Library provides many different tools and resources to help you with your homework.  No matter what subject or what grade, there’s something here to help.

Homework Hotspots
Healthy snacks are served and homework help is provided. There are also two iPads that you can use to access all of our databases and check our catalog for additional resources. The Homework Hotspots are located at:
  • Charles B. Washington Branch, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30-5:30 pm

Take online practice exams or various academic/professional tests including SAT, ACT, GED, GRE, GMAT, ASVAB, Civil Service, and more. Each user needs to set up an account to access their personal scores
American FactFinder Your source for population, housing, economic, and geographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Concise, reliable, and up-to-date reports on more than 200 countries, each U.S. state, and all 13 Canadian provinces and territories.
eLibrary
Covers a wide range of subjects including business, education, general interest, health, language arts, sciences, social sciences, and many other curriculum-specific subject areas.
Encyclopedia of the Mexican States Presents profiles of the 31 states and the Districto Federal (federal district) of Mexico.
History Reference Center
Full text for  leading history periodicals, historical documents,  biographies of historical figures, historical photos and maps, and historical videos.
Kids Search
Topics include animals, arts & music, geography, health, language arts, math, science, social science, and sports. For elementary ages.
MAS High Search Main Edition
Contains popular, middle school appropriate magazines. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays
Novelist Plus K-8
An online database with fiction and nonfiction titles chosen specifically to support the school curriculum as well as the pleasure reading needs of students
Primary Search Main Edition
Popular magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990.
